King James Version

Suggested by the Rev. Ray S. Jones
North 7th Street Church of
Christ (Retired)
I Chronicles 16:
8-9 and 23-25
Give thanks unto the Lord, call upon his name,
make known his deeds among the people. Sing
unto him, sing psalms unto him, talk ye of his
wondrous works.
Sing unto the Lord, all the earth; shew forth
from day to day his salvation. Declare his glory
among the heathen; his marvelous works among
all nations. For great is the Lord, and greatly to be
praised; he also is to be feared above all gods.

Psalm 66: 1-2
Make a joyful noise unto God, all ye lands: Sing forth the honor of his name:
make his praise glorious.
Psalm 95: 1-3
O come, let us sing unto the Lord: let us make a joyful noise to the rock of
our salvation. Let us come before his presence with thanksgiving, and make a
joyful noise unto him with psalms. For the Lord is a great God, and a great King
above all gods.
Psalm 96: 1-4
O
sing unto the Lord a new song: sing unto the Lord, all the earth. Sing unto
the Lord, bless his name; shew forth his salvation from day to day. Declare
his glory among the heathen, his wonders among all people. For the Lord is
great, and greatly to be praised: he is to be feared above all gods.
Psalm 98: 4-6
Make a joyful noise unto the Lord, all the earth: make a loud noise, and
rejoice, and sing praise. Sing unto the Lord with the harp; with the harp,
and the voice of a psalm. With trumpets and sound of cornet make a joyful
noise before the Lord, the King.
Psalm 100
Make a joyful noise unto the Lord, all ye lands. Serve the Lord with gladness:
come before his presence with singing. Know ye that the Lord he is God: it is
he that hath made us, and not we ourselves; we are his people, and the sheep
of his pasture. Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with
praise: be thankful unto him, and bless his name. For the Lord is good; his mercy
is everlasting; and his truth endureth to all generations.
Psalm 149: 1-5
Praise ye the Lord. Sing unto the Lord a new song, and his praise in the
congregation of saints. Let Israel rejoice in him that made him: let the children of
Zion be joyful in their King. Let them praise his name in the dance: let them sing
praises unto him with the timbrel and harp. For the Lord taketh pleasure in his
people: he will beautify the meek with salvation. Let the saints be joyful in glory:
let them sing aloud upon their beds.
Psalm 150
Praise ye the Lord. Praise God in his sanctuary: praise him in the firmament of
his power. Praise him for his mighty acts: praise him according to his excellent
greatness. Praise him with the sound of the trumpet: praise him with the psaltery and
harp. Praise him with the timbrel and dance: praise him with stringed instruments
and organs. Praise him upon the loud cymbals: praise him upon the high sounding
cymbals. Let every thing that hath breath praise the Lord. Praise ye the Lord.
Isaiah 12: 2
Behold, God is my salvation; I will trust, and not be afraid: for the Lord Jehovah is
my strength and my song; he also is become my salvation.
Isaiah 42: 10-12
Sing unto the Lord a new song, and his praise from the end of the earth, ye that go
down to the sea, and all that is therein; the isles, and the inhabitants thereof. Let the
wilderness and the cities thereof lift up their voice, the villages that Kedar doth inhabit:
let the inhabitants of the rock sing, let them shout from the top of the mountains. Let
them give glory unto the Lord, and declare his praise in the islands.
I Corinthians 14:
15
What is it then? I will pray with the spirit, and I will pray with the understanding also:
I will sing with the spirit, and I will sing with the understanding also.
Ephesians 5: 18-20
And be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess; but be filled with the Spirit; Speaking to
yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your
heart to the Lord; Giving thanks always for all things unto God and the Father in the name
of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Colossians 3:16
Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one
another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to
the Lord.
