Religious Music Week
is held the last full week of September, celebrating the ministry of music
in all places of worship. It is a time for congregations to thank the
musicians who provide sacred music throughout the year--and help them
to reach out into the community, drawing ever more people to the worship
of the Lord, our God. Join us in this exciting endeavor!
Religious
Music Week is a
time for all devout men
and women to recognize
the importance of music in
worship, to reach out to
the community through
song, and to give thanks
to the talented musicians
in their congregations
who provide music for
services throughout the
year.
Our Mission
National Religious Music Week
exists in order to encourage all places of worship to celebrate and honor the
ministry of music, and to showcase their musical talents and traditions before
the community at large. Through all of our efforts, we desire to bring glory to
the Lord, our God.
Our immediate
objectives are:
1. To recognize
the last full week of September each year as Religious Music Week,
and during that week to celebrate and honor the ministry of music in
all our places of worship, renewing our faith through
song.
2.
To encourage all congregations to extend thanks and recognition to
the musicians who provide the music for worship services throughout
the year;and in so doing, to give these
musicians support and encouragement for the enhancement of the
religious music program.
3. To so energize the musicians in our churches, temples and synagogues as to motivate them to reach out into the community, drawing ever more people to the worship of the Lord, our God.
